Harry
Tennison Scholarships
Commencing
with the year 2003, the Sportsmen’s Club of Fort
Worth has awarded annual scholarships to deserving
students in the name of Harry Tennison, one of the
Club’s founders.
For the 2004-2005
academic year, scholarships in the amount of
$2,500 each were awarded to four students - two attending
Texas Tech University, one attending Tarleton State University, and one attending Texas A&M at Kingsville.
Scholarships
are generally in amounts of at least $500 and up to
$5,000 each to be used for one year of study at an
accredited college or university located in the State

leadership, academic achievement, strong character,
financial need, and an interest in pursuing an
education and career related to outdoor and/or
wildlife management, conservation, research and/or
education, all as determined by the Club’s
scholarship selection committee.
Scholarships are available to students who (a)
are residents of the Fort Worth, Texas or the
generally surrounding area, (b) have graduated from a
public, private or parochial high school located in
such area (with at least a “C” or equivalent class
